The McDonald's Corporate Christmas Party.

I was very excited to be approached by McDonald's to run a Cake Decorating Activity for their Corporate Christmas Party held at their Collingwood training premises.

It was a really hot day, so I was very  rather relieved when we were lead to the cool air conditioned meeting room to set up for our guests.
Ready to start, with my lovely assistant Carole.

The 40 children attending were separated into groups according to age. I took one group at a time, while the remaining children rotated through one of the other activities McDonald's was providing.
The youngest children were the 4 year olds,  and the oldest group ranged from 10 to 14.

The day was very hectic, but a lot of fun! Here are a few photos, though to be honest, I didn't really have a lot of time to take photos as we were pretty much rushed off our feet from start to finish. The photo below shows the two things the children made:- A Snoman driving a car and a Christmas tree on a biscuit.

Each child was provided with a place mat with their name on it, and a kit containing all the materials and equipment they needed.

They were also given a set of instructions with step by step photos to follow, for example, the photo below shows them how to make the little car for the snowmen to drive.

The younger children were also provided with some of the project done for them, such as the tree, where as the older children were able to make everything themselves. Parents were also encouraged to get involved if they came in.

The idea for the snowmen came from the tiny teddy biscuits that I have seen, where you decorate a chocolate with smarties. I wanted the children to make most of it though, which is why I choose the  cute little snowmen.

It was so much fun to see all these little versions of the snowmen coming to life. The children also made a simple tree cut using a pair of scissors, when they attached with icing onto a sugar cookie.

When the children were finished, each child got to take home their basket with their snowman and tree cookie, plus an iced stocking and a recipe card.

What a lovely day!
Merry Christmas,
